Russell City Fire Department Responds to Residential Structure Fire

FireOn January 5 at approximately 3:17 AM, the Russell City Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 733 East 5th Street in Russell according to a press release from Fire Chief Dylan Riedel.

The 911 caller reported heavy smoke in the house.

Upon arrival of the first RCFD personnel, it was determined there was an active fire in the kitchen of the residence.

The fire was quickly extinguished.

Fire damage was limited to the kitchen, however most of the house sustained smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

There were no injuries.

Firefighters were assisted by Russell County EMS, the Russell Police Department, the Russell County Sheriff's Office, City of Russell Utilities and Russell Rotary Rescue.
