RCACF Awards Nearly $12,000 in Grants to USD 407

RCACF Grants to USD 407 5-13-19The Russell County Area Community Foundation has awarded nearly $12,000 in grants to USD 407.

"The Russell County Area Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that exists solely to make our area a great place to live," said Angie Muller, Executive Director of the Foundation. "We do that by awarding grants in our communities in a way that preserves our rural way of life, so generations can call Russell County home. The Foundation is pleased to partner with USD 407 to provide students and teachers grants that support a terrific learning environment."

The school district was granted $7,147 to purchase a Welch Allyn SPOT Vision Screener to test student vision. The Kindergarten STEM program received an $850 grant. The Foundation supported the Ameritowne field trip with a $1,995 grant. And elementary age students will benefit from a new 0-6 Reading Initiative with a $2,000 grant.

Funding for the grants comes from the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and the Kansas Health Foundation Children's Fund.
