Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner Continues to Grow

2018 Russell Community Thanksgiving DinnerThe smells of Thanksgiving food, and the sounds of fellowship and fun will be in the air Thursday during the annual Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

The meal, which started in 1978, continues to grow and this year, organizers are expecting to serve more than 450 people.

Danniell Heaton, co-organizer of the Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner, says anyone is welcome to attend.

Lee Weigel, one of several volunteers, says you'll enjoy the meal.

Anyone attending is welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

If you need a ride, meal delivered or would like to volunteer, call 483-1772. Heaton says they still need volunteers, especially for clean up after the meal.

The Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner begins at Noon on Thursday at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church located at 415 South Windsor Street.
