Russell County Planning to Purchase New Ambulance

Russell County CourthouseThe Russell County Commission voted to move forward on Monday with plans to purchase one new ambulance for Russell County EMS.

Commission Chairman Alan Kuntzsch says EMS Director Jennifer Cisneros told the Commissioners at their regular meeting either a purchase of a new ambulance or a remounting of a current box onto a new truck chassis would work. Kuntzsch explains he and his colleagues decided to go with the first option.

"Right now we're going to look at purchasing one new truck, so we gave her (Cisneros) the permission to send out the bids and get bids sent in to us by April 15 for one new ambulance," said Kuntzsch.

Larry Height of the Road and Bridge Department also updated the Commissioners at Monday's meeting telling them that the salt brine mixer they had ordered last year to use before snow and ice events is now here, installed and ready for use.

County Administrator Kenton Lyon also discussed several issues with the Commissioners, one of which was the possible upcoming purchase of a lawn mower for county grounds.
