A severe thunderstorm that passed through the northern part of Russell County Sunday evening reportedly produced a brief tornado.
Dorene Chrisler took this picture of what appears to be at least a funnel cloud, if not a rope tornado.
The picture was taken about five miles north of Fairport in Russell County at around 6:30 and the tornado reportedly touched the ground for a short time causing damage to a barn and some trees. No injuries were reported.
Trained storm spotters in the area reported the tornado via emergency personnel scanner to law enforcement and Russell County Emergency Management, according to the National Weather Service.
Quarter to ping pong ball-sized hail was also recorded with the same storm.
