Sidewalk Replacement Program is Underway

City of Russell LogoRecently, City of Russell officials launched a joint sidewalk replacement program aimed at removing old, damaged and unsafe sections of residential area sidewalks in Russell and replacing them with new concrete.

Russell Building Official Barry Mooney says the initial burden of contacting a contractor and getting a bid to see how much the project is estimated to cost is really the only thing that the homeowner will have to do themselves. After that, Mooney says the city will assist you in anyway it can.

Reimbursements will be given to folks living on a single frontage, or middle of a block, up to $750 and those living on a double frontage, or corner lot, up to $1200.

Contact Mooney at City Hall if you are interested in participating in the program or if you have any questions.
