The show in a compilation of work completed over the last three years, starting when Knutson moved to Kansas from the Black Hills of South Dakota. Making work that ranges from mixed media assembles made with found objects to large-scale traditional paintings; Knutson describes his work as compelling cinematic scenes with a strong sense of impending drama. "Using the working-class male as a character or archetype who encounters surreal memories of his past and projections of his future, it is hard to decipher what is real."
Knutson currently teaches drawing and design classes at Fort Hays State University.
