UPDATE: Pfeifer Well Field-to-Russell Pipeline Repaired

City of Russell Logo8:30am Monday - The Russell Water Treatment Plant is taking water again from the Pfeifer Well Field.

Russell City Manager Jon Quinday announced Monday morning that repairs have been made to the raw water transmission line from the Pfeifer Well Field to Russell.

A break in the pipeline was discovered early Sunday afternoon, which caused Russell officials to ask all residents to limit their water use and stop or limit water use by all industrial and heavy commercial users.

Residents can now go back to somewhat of their normal water use.  Although, Quinday reminds everyone that the City of Russell remains under Stage IV Water Restrictions, meaning no outside watering.

5pm Sunday - Russell officials are asking all residents to limit their water use until further notice.

City Manager Jon Quinday says a break in the raw water transmission line from the Pfeifer Well Field to Russell was discovered early Sunday afternoon.

Crews are on scene and expected to work through the night to repair the pipeline. They hope to have those repairs made by Monday.

Quinday says city officials have contacted industrial and heavy commercial customers about limiting or completely stopping their water use until the pipeline is repaired.

As of Sunday evening, the Russell Water Treatment Plant is not taking in water. The city quit taking water from Big Creek Friday after the water level became too low.
