USD 407 BOE Reviews ACT Scores, Considers Capital Outlay Improvements

Last year's Russell High School seniors tested very well on their ACT tests and USD 407 is planning to become more water efficient - those just a couple of the topics discussed at Monday's USD 407 Board of Education meeting.

According to Couch, all three of those improvement projects will only cost a few thousand dollars each and will not need to be bid out. However, Couch did present two more projects - replacement of the water condensation pipes below Bickerdyke Elementary School and replacement of playground equipment padding at Bickerdyke and Simpson Elementary Schools - that will need to be bid out.
One district retirement was announced as well. USD 407 Maintenance Supervisor Jim Bourn will retire November 1. Bourn has served the district for 20 years.
