Car Burglary Spree Hits Lucas

Crime PhotoSeven incidents of car burglary and theft of items were reported to the Russell County Sheriff's Office Saturday in Lucas.

According to a recent law enforcement report, the crimes occurred in the 100 Block of Power Ave, the 400 Block of North Russell Ave, the 200 Block of North Fairview Ave, the 100 Block of South Wolf Ave, the 200 Block of West 1st St, the 500 Block of North Main St and the 400 Block of East 1st St.

All the incidents were similar to one another, in that they all involved the break-in of vehicles and the theft of various small items.

Some of those stolen items include a Garmin GPS, a beanie, a wallet containing a college identification card, a driver's license and a debit card, a recorder, an auxiliary cord, a hat, an FM transmitter and two iPhone cases.

Three cell phone chargers were also stolen from three different vehicles.

One of the seven crimes involved a burglary and theft report for an amount over $1000.

The crimes are believed to have occurred sometime overnight Friday into Saturday morning.
