USD 407 BOE Discusses Enrollment, MINUTES NOW INCLUDED

USD 407 BOEEnrollment is up at Russell schools and the USD 407 Board of Education reviewed the most up-to-date enrollment figures at their regular monthly meeting on Monday.

After the recent announcement of Russell High School moving from 3A to 4A, it was known that a slight uptick in enrollment had occurred.

Superintendent Dave Couch hopes this is a sign of stabilization of student numbers within the district.

The Board also discussed the current cooperative agreement with Victoria for baseball. It is a two-year agreement, therefore no action to change it can be taken at this time, but Couch said consensus of the Board was that it was going well.

Couch says expansion of the co-op was addressed as well.

Facilities improvements and updates, including replacement of heating pipes under Bickerdyke Elementary School, were discussed Monday as well. Bids were considered for a facilities study that will look at all district buildings and hopefully show what other upgrades need to be made.
