County Commissioners Approve Courthouse Addition Site Plan

Russell County CourthouseRussell County Commissioners Tuesday approved the site plan for the County Courthouse addition and are inching closer to approving a floor plan.

The site plan details changes to the courthouse square that will include the building of the new addition to the north of the current courthouse and the construction of a new parking lot immediately to the south of the existing courthouse.

Commissioner Brad Zweifel says the new parking lot will add much needed handicap stalls.

Zweifel says if everything goes as planned, they are hoping to break ground sometime this spring and have at least the shell of the addition built before next winter rolls around.

Also Tuesday, Commissioners awarded a bid for overlay work to begin on the Milberger blacktop.
