Hoisington Man, Woman Arrested in Russell on Drug Charges

Drug ArrestA Hoisington man and woman are in jail today after being arrested early Wednesday morning on drug charges involving meth possession following a traffic stop in Russell.

According to a recent police report, at 12:40 AM, a Russell Police Officer conducted a traffic stop at 1st and Front Street with a 2000 Jeep driven by James Redetzke.

Additional officers from the PD and the Russell County Sheriff's Office responded.

Martha Schepmann, a passenger in the vehicle, was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Redetzke was placed under arrest on the strength of a Barton County warrant for contempt of court. Redetzke was also charged with driving while suspended, interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
