Waymaster Elected to Friends of Cedar Crest Board

Jim Dorsey, President of the Friends of Cedar Crest Association, has announced that Representative Troy L. Waymaster of Luray, 109th Kansas House District, has been elected as a member of the board of directors for the Friends of Cedar Crest.
The Friends of Cedar Crest is a non-profit organization focusing on the promotion, preservation, restoration and enhancement of Cedar Crest, the Kansas Governors residence, which is listed on the national register of historic places.
Cedar Crest is a French-Norman style home built in 1928 and became the official Kansas Governors residence in 1962. The home was built by Frank P. MacLennan and the house and surrounding property were bequeathed to the state of Kansas in 1955. The property contains 244 acres of nature, jogging and walking trails and ponds that surround the residence.
The next scheduled meeting for the Friends of Cedar Crest is Friday, July 11, 2014 at Cedar Crest.Read More Local News
