Mosquito Fogging Continues

Mosquito SprayingCity of Russell crews will continue mosquito fogging Thursday night and twice next week for the Fourth of July weekend.

On Wednesday, city crews larvicided the creeks as they expect a new hatch of mosquitoes will hit next week. Larviciding is an ecologically safe preventive method used to interrupt the development of larvae or pupa into adult mosquitoes.

City officials ask citizens to do their part to remove any unnecessary standing water and keep grass and vegetation low as possible to remove areas from becoming breeding grounds.

Informational pamphlets on mosquito control are available at the City Building located at 133 W. 8th Street.
