RHS Rotary Interact Club Heads to Guatemala for Service Trip

RHS Rotary Interact Guatemala TripFour members of the Russell High School Rotary Interact Club will be leaving for Guatemala over Spring Break to complete a service trip.

The students, Seniors Taelyr Blehm, Daisi Brand and Maci Clark, and Sophomore Jayden Braun, will be installing water filtration systems, building environmentally safe cookstoves for home use and painting local elementary schools during their visit.

The students will be helping families in the rural villages of Patanatic, San Luis, San Pablo and Antigua.

The students raised funds to help bring 55 families clean water systems.

The students will be accompanied by Russell Rotary sponsors Gloria Homeier, Kendra Trueblood and Tia Blehm.

The RHS Interact Club is a service club open to all RHS students.

The focus of the club is to create service leaders in the local community and the world abroad.
