USD 407 BOE Approves Purchase of Laptops

USD 407 BOE 7-13-15The USD 407 Board of Education approved the purchase Monday of approximately 300 Asus laptops for Russell High School students and Ruppenthal Middle School staff.

It's part of the district's 1-to-1 initiative to provide computers to all students and staff.

Superintendent Angela Lawrence says this is already the second generation of the 1-to-1 initiative as the high school has been using Dell Venue tablets for the last three years on a lease agreement.

Also Monday, the Board approved the Summer Food Service Program. Creath Newacheck will be the director of the program.

The Board also heard a presentation from RHS Construction Teacher Matt Brown about the construction class's work to build the new bus barn east of Shaffer Field. Brown talked about that project's progression and asked for approval of next school year's construction class project. Brown was given unanimous approval by the Board to use a building addition project at the Trinity Community Thrift Store in Russell as the class project for next school year.
