Lucas Travel Plate Update Funding Sought

city of lucas logoThe hail storm of April 24, 2015 severely damaged every building in Lucas. Also damaged was the World's Largest Travel Plate that sits along Kansas Highway 18 east of Lucas. Most of the paint was chipped off and there are big holes in the fiberglass.

In order to raise the $5,992 in funds to repair and update the travel plate and add a limestone easel the Lucas Area Chamber of Commerce has started a fundraising project through the Kansas Sampler Foundation's We Kan Do It website.

The fiberglass repair and artwork will be done by local artist Erika Nelson and the easel will be constructed out of limestone by local stone mason Jon Pancost.

Please follow THIS LINK to the website and donate so this project can be accomplished.
