Foster Mortuary Changes Name to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home

Foster MortuaryLarry and Tammy Foster, along with Brad Plumer, have announced Foster Mortuary of Wilson, which has been under new ownership since 2013, will be changing its name to Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home.

After 23 years of owning and operating the business, Larry Foster has decided to semi-retire. He still will be working for the funeral home and be available to help people during their time of need.

Plumer has been serving the people of western and central Kansas in the funeral industry for more than 20 years. He is the husband of Daphne Plumer and father of their three girls. He is dedicated to serving the community of Wilson with the same quality, honesty and integrity people have come to expect.

Along with Plumer, Troy Miller will be working at the funeral home as well. As a retired minister, Miller has more than 20 years of counseling and helping people through the loss of a loved one. Originally from Russell, and with family connections in Dorrance, he is looking forward to meeting and serving the people of Wilson and the surrounding area.

With ongoing plans for continued remodeling and upgrading, there will be new services offered as well.

An open house with lunch and a Wilson Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony are scheduled for Sunday, August 27 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the funeral home, with the ribbon cutting taking place at 12:30 PM. Hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and refreshments will be served, and residents will have a chance to talk with Plumer, Miller and their families. All are welcome to attend.

They look forward to seeing you and continuing to work together to help make Wilson a great place to raise your family.
