House Passes Bob Dole Congressional Gold Medal Act

Bob Dole at KRSL July 2 2014 2The United States House of Representatives passed the Bob Dole Congressional Gold Medal Act Tuesday night, which was introduced by Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.

This Act, already passed by the Senate, will award Senator Bob Dole with the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress' highest civilian honor.

"Senator Bob Dole never forgets where he is from – Russell, Kansas," said Congressman Roger Marshall, M.D. "Perhaps that's what made him so effective, and so beloved by his constituents. Now at 94-years-young, Senator Dole continues to work every day for the causes he supports. In all of this work, he operates with the humility and wit that endeared him to the nation, and that has been ingrained in him as a Kansan."

Congressman Marshall concluded...

"I am pleased to see this legislation passed the House with a strong, bipartisan vote," said Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins. "I thank Dr. Marshall for his support in helping me get this legislation to the finish line. Now, I look forward to President Trump signing this bill so we can honor Senator Dole for his service to Kansas and our nation."
