Salvation Army Drive Underway

Salvation ArmyThe easily identified red kettles of the Salvation Army are located in a number of Russell businesses.

Funds placed in the kettles stay in Russell County to assist people throughout the year.

"Through the generosity of Russell County residents, people have been helped with medical emergencies, loss due to fire, and helped with utility bills during economic hardships," said Pastor Roger Dennis, the Salvation Army coordinator for Russell County.

People can make donations through the kettles at Woelk's House of Diamonds/Espresso, Etc., D. Palma & Company Mercantile, Klema's Apple Market, Encore Antiques & Collectables, Russell Livestock Commission, Meridy's Restaurant, Hair Haven, Lana's Flower Company, Off the Vine, Myers Furniture, Gregwire Drug Store and Midwest Family Health Pharmacy in Russell.

People may also mail donations to St. John Lutheran Church or donate through their respective congregations.

Look for the Salvation Army bucket and ringers downtown during Weihnachtsfest on Saturday, December 9 between the hours of 11 AM and 4 PM.
