Rep. Waymaster Previews 2018 Legislative Session

Troy Waymaster - LurayState Representative Troy Waymaster of Bunker Hill and the 109th House District believes education funding will be the main topic of discussion throughout the 2018 Kansas State Legislative Session, which begins Monday, January 8 in Topeka.

It's been a hot button issue in the last few years and the Legislature has to decide what to do as the Kansas Supreme Court again ruled last year that schools are not receiving enough money.

Waymaster, who serves as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, says there is good news regarding the state budget, at least for now.

In 2018, Waymaster also hopes to reintroduce his bill, the Ad Astra Rural Jobs Act.

He also hopes to address transportation funding this session.
