Russell County Remains in a Burn Ban

Burn BanRussell County residents are reminded the entire county remains in a burn ban.

The Russell County Commissioners voted in December of 2017 to place Russell County in a burn ban until further notice.

The Commissioners cited extremely dry and windy weather conditions as the main reason for the ban.

Any open fire is prohibited.

Prescribed burning of fence rows, fields, wild lands, ravines, trash and debris is prohibited.

Exemptions are stoves, fireplaces, campfires and propane or charcoal barbeque grills that are contained in an upright, fully covered grill in developed recreational sites or residential areas.

The Commissioners met Monday, March 5 and reiterated the ban is still on.
