Bronco Radio Wins Eight KAB Student Awards

Bronco Radio Whats Up 3-13-18Russell High School's Bronco Radio has won eight 2018 Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) Student Awards.

The announcement was made at Tuesday's Russell Main Street, Inc. What's Up in Russell Coffee, which was held at the Bronco Radio studio inside RHS.

Senior Rayn Sehl along with Freshman Rylee Miller received First Place for Station Promotion Announcement.

Senior Devon Axelson along with Freshman Lily Garland received Honorable Mention for Station Promotion Announcement.

Rayn Sehl received Second Place in Enterprise News Package.

Senior Jaime Hanson received First Place in Complete News Feature.

Rayn Sehl received Honorable Mention in Complete News Feature.

Seniors Chandler Kitchen and Jaime Hanson received First Place On-Air Personalities.

Lily Garland received Second Place in Entertainment Program.

And was named the number one website in the state.

Station Manager Chandler Kitchen said he's very pleased with the turnout for their first year of broadcasting. They have plans for more in 2018 and beyond.

The awards will be officially handed out at the 2018 KAB Student Seminar and Career Fair on Tuesday, April 3 at Kansas State University in Manhattan.
