Elementary Students Will Race for Education April 25

Track PictureSimpson and Bickerdyke Elementary Schools in Russell have announced a new fundraising event. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to directly benefit the students' educational experience at the elementary level.

On Wednesday, April 25, the SES/BES PTO will conduct its first Race for Education.

The purpose will be to raise funds in order to provide increased security at the elementary buildings and for other essential educational needs.

Students will walk or jog around the Russell High School track as many times as possible in a one-hour period.

Each student is raising funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax deductible donation to USD 407.

The goal is to raise $10,000.

According to Principal Jim Moeder, there are several prize incentives for students to raise money.

To make an online donation to a specific child, go to www.race4ed.com/sbes.
