USD 399 Will Transition to Four-Day School Week

Natoma TigersThe USD 399 Natoma-Paradise-Waldo Board of Education has voted six-to-one to transition to a four-day school week starting this fall.

The Board hosted community meetings over the last few months to discuss the possibility of the change.

The Board actually voted down the change earlier this year, but according to Superintendent Larry Geist, reconsidered it at a meeting Tuesday because of new budget figures.

Having the school buildings open one less day per week will save money and longer class periods will give teachers more time with students according to Geist.

Friday will be the day dropped from the school week.

Students are currently dismissed at 3:45, but will be dismissed at 4 starting in the fall.
