Zorn, Birky Receive Russell County Farm Bureau Scholarships

Kansas Farm BureauRussell County Farm Bureau has announced its 2018 scholarship recipients.

The Russell County Farm Bureau Scholarships were established in memory of longtime Board Members Randyl Becker and Margaret Denning. The Russell County Farm Bureau Scholarship originated in the spring of 2007 in honor of longtime Board President Randyl Becker who died of cancer on July 8, 2006. On November 28, 2009, longtime Secretary Margaret Denning died suddenly. Both had been on the Board for many years and were very active with Farm Bureau.

Russell County Farm Bureau selected two deserving 2018 high school graduates as recipients who are very active in school, community and youth organizations, show leadership ability, and are also outstanding academically. They each will receive $500 scholarships.

The first is Kendyl Zorn of Wilson High School. She is the daughter of Bradley and Mary Zorn and will be attending Wichita State University and wants to obtain a degree in Sports Management.

Ryan Birky of Russell High School will also receive a $500 scholarship. Ryan is the son of Jon and Kim Birky and will be attending the University of Kansas. His intended major is Pre-Pharmacy.
