Natoma's Braydon Hays Places Nationally in VFW's Patriot's Pen Contest

Patriots PenNatoma's Braydon Hays placed 16th in the nation with his essay for the VFW's Patriot's Pen Contest.

According to USD 399, Hays won the state contest, which made him eligible for the national contest.

More than 122,000 6th through 8th Grade students participated this year.

Hays wrote his essay on this year's theme, America's Gift To My Generation.

Hays was awarded a check for $1,000 for his accomplishment.

He is the son of Willy and Jennifer Hays and a student of English teacher Shari Paget.
