Reinhardt Wins Commissioner Primary

VoteRepublican challenger Steve Reinhardt defeated incumbent Alan Kuntzsch 332-123 for Russell County's First District Commissioner position in Tuesday's Primary Election.

Scott Steinle finished with 71 votes.

Reinhardt will be unopposed in the November General Election.

That was one of two locally contested races in the county Tuesday. Don F. Krug topped Gerald Brandenburg 46-19 on the Republican side for Grant Township Clerk.

According to Russell County Clerk and Election Officer Mary Nuss, 35 percent of registered voters in the county cast a ballot.

The results are not official until canvass on Monday, August 20 at 9:30 AM.

No Russell City Council races were decided Tuesday. They will be on the November General Election ballot.
