Russell City Council Discusses Digger Derrick Purchase

Russell City Council 1-2-18The Russell City Council met Tuesday afternoon for its monthly work study session.

The Council discussed the proposed purchase of a new digger derrick truck for the Russell City Electric Department.

City Manager Jon Quinday said the proposed purchase is budgeted for and the money will come from the Electric Depreciation Fund.

Digger derricks dig holes, hoist and set utility poles, and lift other materials.

Also Tuesday, the Council discussed the proposed purchase of a new vehicle for the Building, Planning and Zoning Department.

At its next regular meeting, the Council will consider the purchase of a Ford Focus from Lewis Ford for $14,000.

Also Tuesday, the Council discussed the possibility of updating the City's Animal Control Ordinance and changing the utility billing cycles from two to one per month.
