Russell Woman Arrested After Shooting in Russell

ShootingA Russell woman was arrested Sunday night after she shot and injured a man in Russell.

According to dispatch logs and Russell Police Chief Dale Weimaster, at 10:22 PM Sunday, a woman called Russell Dispatch and reported a man had been shot in the leg at a residence in Russell.

Police Officers, a Russell County Sheriff's Deputy and Russell County EMS responded to the home in the 400 block of North Franklin Street.

One man was transported to Russell Regional Hospital and later released. His name will not be released.

Tamara Redford of Russell was placed under arrest and transported to the Russell County Jail.

She was charged with aggravated battery, unlawful discharge of a weapon and drug possession.

At 1:06 AM Monday, a search warrant was executed at the home on Franklin and drugs were found according to Weimaster.
