Ninth-Ranked Osborne Cruises Past Natoma

NATOMA-Steele Wolters scored all 17 of his points in the first half as the ninth-ranked Osborne Bulldogs routed Natoma 72-33 Friday night at Tiger Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter before Natoma got on the board with a pair of Jayson Engling free throws.  The Tigers closed to within 11-5 on a three-pointer by Jayce Dickerson before Osborne (15-0, 8-0) closed out the period on a 12-3 run to lead 23-8 after the first eight minutes.

In the second quarter, the Bulldogs blew the game open turning several Tiger turnovers into easy layups enroute to a 46-12 advantage at intermission.  In the third quarter, Engling got hot for Natoma, dropping in 11 points but the Tigers still trailed 65-23.  The fourth quarter was played with a running clock as Osborne kept its perfect record intact.

In addition to Wolters' 17 points, three other Bulldogs were in double figures as Jordan Wherry scored 14 points, Vaughn Stull, a former Natoma Tiger added 11 and Darrien Holloway chipped in with 10.  Darnell Holloway, Darrien's older brother did not play in Friday's game due to illness.

Engling led Natoma (2-11, 0-6) with 15 points while Jayce Dickerson added eight.

Osborne is next in action Tuesday at home against Pike Valley while Natoma will play at Rock Hills.
