Dortland Signs with Barton CC

Tiffany Dortland Signing 1 3-28-19Russell High School Senior Tiffany Dortland has signed to play basketball at Barton Community College next school year.

A signing ceremony was held Thursday morning at RHS.

RHS Girls Basketball Head Coach Frank Schulte said a few words at the ceremony. He said Dortland was the most competitive player he's ever coached and she was the key to several Lady Bronco victories.

Former Assistant Coach Tammi Buhrle spoke and said she believes Dortland will excel at Barton and hopefully use her time at Barton as an opportunity to move on to a larger school afterward.

Tiffany's father and Lady Bronco Assistant Coach Darrell Dortland said he's proud of her and glad she will be close to home.

Tiffany played basketball for two and a half seasons at RHS after transferring from Victoria.

She averaged 21 points per game her senior year, 18 points per game her junior year and 16 points per game in 15 games her sophomore season.

In her Lady Bronco career, Tiffany scored 1,134 points, made 147 three-point baskets, started 59 times and was 171-of-230 from the free throw line, which is 74 percent.

Her career-high was 39 points versus Ellinwood on February 4, 2019 in Russell.
