RHS Girls Ninth, Boys 11th in Ellsworth Invite

Track Start Finish Line PictureThe Russell High School track and field team was back in action on Tuesday, April 9 as they competed in the Ellsworth Invitational.

The RHS girls finished ninth with 27 points and the boys 11th with 3 points.  Kiowa County won the girls team title with 103 points and Hoisington took the boys title with 99 points.  12 schools were part of the meet at Shanelec Field.

Renee Nichol paced the Russell girls as she won the triple jump and took second in the long jump.  Kaylee Hoss placed fourth in the shot put and was sixth in the discus. Camille Dortland finished fifth in the 3200 M run.  Jordynn Guenot was fifth in the 300 M hurdles.

For the Russell boys, Jacob Windholz placed fifth in the 400 M dash and Jesse Whitmer was sixth in the 100 M dash.

Russell returns to action on Tuesday, April 16 in Plainville.
