Russell Diamond Diablos Take Fifth at State Tournament

The Russell Diamond Diablos 16 and under fastpitch softball team took fifth place in the ASA 16C State Tournament July 13-14 in Emporia.

Russell won their opening game 10-8 over the Salina Braves. But lost their next two games, falling to United 8-2 and A-shock 6-3.

12 teams competed in the tournament.

The Diamond Diablos are now 13-6-1 on the summer and will play in the Heartland of Kansas World Series July 25-28 in Kansas City. 21 teams are in the 16 to 18 year old division including Russell.
