Beloit Blanks the Broncos

Russell Bronco FootballThe Russell Bronco football team (1-7, 1-4 3A District 8) lost 47-0 at Beloit (5-3, 3-2 3A District 8) on Friday, October 25.

The Trojans scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and led 26-0 after one period.

Beloit scored three more touchdowns in the second quarter and led 47-0 at halftime.

The entire second half was played with a running clock and neither team scored in the final 24 minutes.

Beloit quarterback Hudson Gray passed for 203 yards and four touchdowns. Trojan wide receiver Vincent Palen caught six passes for 118 yards and two TDs. Running backs Grant Arasmith and Carson Cox caught the other two touchdowns. Gray, Cox and Arasmith each had one rushing touchdown as well.

Beloit outgained Russell 468 total yards to 64, as the Trojans finished with 265 yards on the ground and 203 yards through the air, while the Broncos totaled just 56 yards rushing and eight yards passing.

Beloit also forced two Russell fumbles and one interception.

The Broncos will finish the season on Friday, November 1 at Pratt. Catch the game on KRSL AM 990, 98.1 FM and KRSL.com with pregame coverage starting at 6:30 PM. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
