Sub-State Roundup: Victoria Headed to State, Russell Ends Season in Hoisington

Victoria Volleyball Team 10-26-19The Victoria Lady Knights have qualified for the Class 1A State Volleyball Tournament after winning the Western Plains Sub-State on Saturday, October 26.

Victoria, who was seeded eighth in the sub-state, beat top-seeded Rexford-Golden Plains in two (25-22, 25-17) in the semifinals and then topped Sharon Springs-Wallace County in two (25-19, 25-22) in the championship. The Lady Knights improve to 23-13 and play in the 1A State Tournament in Dodge City on Friday and Saturday, November 1-2.

Russell had its season come to an end on Saturday after losing to TMP-Marian in two (25-21, 25-20) in the first round of the Hoisington 3A Sub-State. The Lady Broncos finish with a 6-27 record. Beloit ended up winning the sub-state to advance to the 3A State Tournament in Hutchinson November 1-2.
