RHS Finishes Sixth at Ellsworth Invite, Baldwin and Windholz Take First

RHS Wrestling LogoThe Russell High School wrestling team opened the 2020 portion of the their schedule on Saturday, January 11 with a sixth place finish at the 47th annual Ellsworth Invitational.

The Broncos had 67.5 points. Hoisington captured the team title with 188.5 points and beat second place Hill City by 37 points (151.5 pts). Hesston was third with 91 points. 12 schools competed in the meet.

Four of Russell's eight wrestlers who competed finished in the top three of their weight divisions. Stephan Baldwin went 5-0 and won the 120 pound division. Jacob Windholz went 2-0 and took the 132 pound division. Brayden Strobel had a 3-1 mark and placed second at 138 pounds. Jacob Ney was third at 126 pounds with a 1-2 record.
