Victoria High SchoolGirls: Central Plains 86, Victoria 31

CLAFLIN-Emily Ryan scored 37 points as the top seeded Central Plains Lady Oilers pulled away late in the first quarter on their way to an 86-31 victory over Central Prairie League foe Victoria in the semifinals of the Girls Class 1A Regional Friday evening at Central Plains High School.

From there the Lady Oilers kicked it into high gear.  The lead grew at halftime to 46-19 and then Central Plains outscored Victoria in the third quarter 28-4 to swell the margin to 74-23 and trigger a running clock for the fourth quarter.

Ryan was joined in double figures by Addison Crites with 11 points and Brynna Hammeke added 10 off the bench for the Lady Oilers (21-0).  Victoria (12-10) was led by nine points from Kuhn as their season came to an end.

Central Plains extended their state record winning streak to 132 games which is now tied for the third longest in U.S history.  The Lady Oilers who punched their ticket to Sub-State with Friday's win will face #2 seed Otis-Bison in the Championship game Saturday at 6 p.m.  The Lady Cougars blew past #6 LaCrosse 45-16 in Friday's other semifinal.
