Beloit Routs Russell

RHS FootballThe Russell High School football team experienced one of their most lopsided losses in school history on Friday, Sept. 14 after they fell to NCAA league rival Beloit 84-0 at Trojan Field in Beloit.

The Trojans (3-0 overall, 1-0 NCAA) scored 11 total touchdowns - nine on offense and two on defense - and racked up 571 yards of offense.  Beloit rushed for 477 yards and passed for 94.

The Trojans led 38-0 after the first quarter, 68-0 at halftime and 76-0 after three quarters.

Russell was held to just 31 total yards, one first down and committed four turnovers.

Riley Pfannenstiel had 20 yards rushing to lead the Broncos.

Tanner Niemczyk had 126 yards and three touchdowns for Beloit.  Jace Adams had 83 yards and a score.  Stanten Krone rushed for 71 yards and a TD.

Russell (0-3, 0-3) will go after their first win again on Friday when they take on Republic Co. in Belleville.  The Buffaloes are 0-3.  Gametime is at 7pm.  Countdown to Kickoff begins at 6:30pm on Classic Hits 95.9 and www.krsl.com.
