Russell Shutout by Scott City in Finale

RHS FootballThe Russell High School football team had their season come to a close on Thursday, Oct. 25 following a 55-0 loss to Scott City at Shaffer Field in Russell.

The Beavers, who are ranked second in Class 3A, controlled the game from start to finish.  Scott City scored on their first three plays to take a 21-0 lead after the first quarter.  The Beavers added four more touchdowns in the second quarter to go up 48-0 at halftime and scored their final TD early in the third quarter.

Scott City outgained Russell 450-95 in total yards and forced the Broncos into two turnovers.

Dylan Walker led Russell with 45 yards rushing.  ReShean Holloway followed with 25.

Dalton Buehler had 154 yards and two touchdowns for Scott City.  Brenner Wells added three rushing TDs.

Russell ends the season with a 1-8 record.  Scott City improves to 9-0 and advances to the 3A playoffs for the seventh-straight season.  Hoisington is the district runner-up and earned a trip to the playoffs with a 45-0 win over TMP.
