Beloit Sweeps Russell Relays

RHS Track and FieldBeloit won both the boys and girls team titles at the annual Russell Relays on Friday, May 3 at Shaffer Field.

The BHS boys finished with 147 points and beat second place Phillipsburg by 30 points.  Russell was eighth with 14 points.

The Beloit girls had 146 points and beat second place Concordia by 33 points.  Russell had 23 points and was eighth.

For the Russell boys, the 4x400 relay team placed third and the 4x100 relay team sixth.  David Crawford was fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 300 M hurdles.  Mathew Pfannenstiel was sixth in the long jump.  Noah Gfeller was sixth in the 400 M dash.

Sammy Wedel placed second in the 400 M dash and third in the 200 M dash to lead the Russell girls.  Ashtyn Brown was third in the shot put and fifth in the discus.  Hannah Hoch was sixth in the 3200 M run.

Russell travels to Minneapolis on Friday for the NCAA league meet.
