Broncos Split Regular-Season Finale

The Russell High School baseball team finished the regular-season with a split in Beloit on Monday, May 7.

The Broncos lost the opener 9-7, but bounced back for a 7-5 win in game two.

Brandon Bachar (3-4) gave up eight runs on five hits over 4.2 innings and took the loss in game one.  Kaden Rohr (2-3) took a no-hitter into the fourth inning in game two and ended up going the distance, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out a career-high 13 for the win.

Chase Prester had three hits in game one to lead the Broncos.  Bachar and Dylan Braun each had two hits.  In game two, Braun had three hits and Mason Beagley followed with two.

Russell finishes the regular-season with an 8-12 record.

The Broncos now turn their focus to regionals, which begin on Monday, May 13.  Regional brackets will be released on Wednesday.
