Victoria, Wilson Girls Qualify for State

BasketballSix area teams went into Saturday night with a chance at state. Two punched their tickets.

The Victoria girls beat Macksville 45-25 to win the Burrton 1A Div. 1 Sub-State, while the Wilson girls topped Otis-Bison 58-49 to take the Otis-Bison 1A Div. 2 Sub-State.

Victoria will play their first-round game on Thursday, March 13 in Emporia. Wilson plays in Hays also on Thursday. Opponents and game times will be announced on Sunday. Check back to KRSL.com for the brackets.

The Russell and Sylvan-Lucas girls and Victoria and Natoma boys all fell in their sub-state championship games.

The Russell girls lost to Pratt 48-30 at the 4A Div. 2 Sub-State in Russell.

The Sylvan-Lucas girls were beat by Beloit-St. John's-Tipton 45-34 at the Sylvan 1A Div. 2 Sub-State.

The Victoria boys fell to Macksville 72-43 at the Burrton 1A Div. 1 Sub-State.

The Natoma boys were beat by Beloit-St. John's-Tipton 59-44 at the Sylvan 1A Div. 2 Sub-State.
