Victoria Bounces Back, Blanks Lincoln

Victoria KnightsVICTORIA-Cooper Windholz passed for 83 yards and three touchdowns and Collin Kisner added a pair of scores as the Victoria Knights rebounded from last week's loss at Osborne with a 52-0 District 4 win over Lincoln Friday night in a game that was halted at halftime by the 45-point rule.

After the Leopards went three and out on their first series, Victoria wasted little time in finding the end zone when Kisner scored from 29 yards out on the Knights' second play from scrimmage for an early 8-0 lead after the two-point conversion.  After a Lincoln fumble, Victoria needed just two plays to score again when Windholz connected with Caden Oberle on a 45-yard touchdown pass to widen the lead to 16-0 after the two-pointer.

Victoria marched 40 yards in three plays after stopping the Leopards on downs on their next drive with Windholz running in from one yard out to make the score 24-0 after another two-point play.  In the second quarter Victoria started a drive on their own two-yard but thanks to some penalties by Lincoln moved to the 10-yard line of the Leopards.  Facing a fourth and goal, Windholz threw his second scoring pass of the game finding Kisner in the end zone for a 30-0 lead after the two-pointer was no good.

Cooper Pfananstiel then intercepted a Drew Biggs pass and returned it to the one-yard line.  On the next play Pfananstiel gained the yard he missed on the interception and the two-point conversion put Victoria up 38-0.  The Knights made the score 46-0 on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Windholz to Wyatt Dreiling and the two-ponit conversion.  Then 59 seconds laster, Pfananstiel recorded his second interception of the game and ran it in from 12 yards out to provide the final margin of 52-0 after the two-point play failed.

Victoria rolled up 231 yards of offense including 148 on the ground.  Kisner was the leading rusher with 86 yards followed by an additional 38 from Tyler Knoles.  Despite some positive plays in the first quarter, Lincoln (1-6, 0-4) was held to 39 yards of total offense.

Victoria (6-2, 3-1) travels to Solomon for the regular season finale next Thursday and can clinch a playoff spot with a victory.
