2017-18 Basketball Sub-State Assignments Released

KSHSAA LogoThe Kansas State High School Activities Association has announced its 2017-2018 Basketball Sub-State Assignments.

The KSHSAA sponsors 64 Sub-State basketball tournaments, which will be held February 26 through March 3. There will be eight Sub-State tournaments per classification/division with winners advancing to the State tournament March 7 through 10.

Russell High School will compete in the Minneapolis 3A Sub-State against Beloit, Ellsworth, Gypsum-Southeast of Saline, Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian, Hoisington, Minneapolis and Riley County.

Sylvan-Lucas will play in the Sylvan Grove 1A Division I Sub-State with Downs-Lakeside, Kensington-Thunder Ridge, Little River, Mankato-Rock Hills and Osborne.

Victoria will compete in the Dighton 1A Division I Sub-State against Atwood-Rawlins County, Brewster/Winona-Triplains, Dighton and Stockton.

Natoma will play in the Palco 1A Division II Sub-State with Almena-Northern Valley, Beloit-St. John's/Tipton, Logan and Palco.

Wilson will compete in the Stafford 1A Division II Sub-State against Chase, Hutchinson-Central Christian, McPherson-Elyria Christian, Stafford and Tescott.

Class 3A Sub-State seeding will be February 21. Boys Class 3A quarterfinal games will be played at the higher seed on February 26. On February 27, Girls Class 3A will play at the higher seed. Semifinals and finals will be played at the primary site; Thursday, Boys 3A and Friday, Girls 3A. Saturday will be girls and boys finals.

Class 3A State will be held at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Class 1A Sub-State seeding will be February 21. All games will be played at the primary host site. Quarterfinal boys games will be on Monday and girls on Tuesday at the primary host site. Groupings of five schools will play both boys and girls quarterfinal games on the same night. In that case 1A-DII will play on Monday and Class 1A-DI will play on Tuesday.

Class 1A DI State will be held at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. Class 1A DII State will be held at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City.
