State Track Wrap-up: Batchman, Princ Take Gold for Sylvan-Lucas

2018 KSHSAA State Track Logo18 area athletes competed in 17 events at the Kansas High School State Track and Field Meet at Cessna Stadium in Wichita on Friday and Saturday, May 25-26.

Renee Nichol from Russell took eighth in both the long jump and triple jump in Class 3A.

In 1A, Sylvan-Lucas had two gold medal winners. Autumn Princ repeated as the state champ in the 3200 M run. Logan Batchman took first in the shot put and third in the discus. Delaney Herold finished seventh in the 200 M dash and eighth in the 100 M dash. On the boys side for the Mustangs, Jonathan Huehl was ninth in the 3200 M run and 10th in the 1600 M run. The boys 4x800 relay team placed 13th.

Victoria's Drayden Karlin was sixth in the 400 M dash. Lucas Taylor placed sixth in the shot put. Joshua Schulte was 12th in the 3200 M run. For the Lady Knights, Ally Dinkel finished 12th in the 800 M run, Hannah Radke 13th in the javelin and the 4x800 relay team ended up 14th.

Wilson's Kayleigh Hanzlick was 12th in the high jump.

The Hanover girls (65 points) and South Gray (77 points) boys won the 1A team titles. The Sylvan-Lucas girls were 10th with 29 points.
