Midway Extension to Host Programs in March
Midway Extension Agents Clint Laflin and Craig Dinkel are hosting a joint program titled Crop and Pasture Weed Control on Wednesday, March 20.
The program will be held at Meridy's Restaurant in Russell in the back room from 5:30 to 8 PM.
Dr. Sarah Lancaster, KSU Extension Weed Specialist, will present on weed control and management of crop land prior to planting milo. Lancaster will also cover weed control in fallow ground and post-wheat harvest.
Keith Harmoney, KSU Range Scientist, will discuss pasture weed management considerations. His presentation will include control options for tree, brush and invasive pasture weeds.
Following the meeting, a meal sponsored by United Ag Service in Gorham will be provided to meeting attendees. The meeting is free and they kindly request you RSVP for the meeting by Friday, March 15. Please RSVP by emailing Clint at firstname.lastname@example.org or Craig at email@example.com.
On Saturday, March 30, Clint Laflin will also be hosting a predator management and trapping meeting on a producer's property near Bunker Hill. KSU Wildlife Specialist Drew Ricketts will demonstrate how to identify ideal trapping locations, calling methods and setting traps.
