Post Rock Country is July 11 with Sternberg Museum of Natural History Manager of Visitor Services Brad Penka. Early Kansas pioneers, lacking trees, built sod homes prone to rain and fire damage. Discovering a layer of rock beneath the soil, they constructed durable buildings. Some replaced with steel, those in Post Rock Country endure, a testament to pioneer ingenuity amid challenges of the plains. The theater sponsor is the Kansas Post Rock Limestone Coalition.

Cheyenne Bottoms and the Kansas Wetlands Education Center is August 8 with Director at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center at Cheyenne Bottoms Curtis Wolf. While hunters and birders cherish Cheyenne Bottoms, many are unaware of this vast wetland in central Kansas. Did you know it's the largest in the US interior? He will highlight its significance through multimedia, showcasing diverse avian residents. They'll also delve into KWEC's impactful initiatives. The theater sponsor is the Russell County Historical Society.
