110 Years in Education Honored Wednesday at Retirement Reception

110 years in education among three people were honored Wednesday afternoon at a retirement reception at Ruppenthal Middle School.

The Russell County USD 407 Board of Education and the Russell County National Education Association hosted the retirement reception for Russell High School Administrative Assistant Mary Boxberger, RMS Industrial Arts and Technology Teacher Dwight Windle and RMS Social Studies Teacher Cheryl Seirer.

Boxberger retires after 34 years at RHS. Windle retires after 35 years in education, 30 of which were at USD 407 in Russell and in Lucas. And Seirer retires after 41 years at USD 407 in Russell.

Boxberger shared how she approached her job.

Windle talked about what he's going to miss about teaching.

Seirer also mentioned what she's going to miss.

Several friends, family members and coworkers attended the reception.
